The completed questionnaire was emailed to the EBU on 29th November and a copy of the response has been posted on the club notice board. Subscriptions There are now only two outstanding subscriptions for the year 2007/8. Would the two members concerned pleased contact the treasurer as soon as possible. Annual Dinner and Presentation Night This event was held at Willesley Park Golf Club on Friday 21st September and was a very successful evening. Our thanks go to Dean Benton and Claire Lewis for the organisation of the event, to Gordon Grimley for making the presentations and to Derek Marshall for standing in for the chairman. Christmas Bridge Drive This event will take place at The Cottage on Thursday 13th December. The club will provide the bridge prizes and wine but as in previous years members are asked to bring food and raffle prizes would be appreciated. If you haven’t got a partner for this event you are still welcome and will be paired up on the evening. Membership list A new membership list has been prepared and copies can be obtained on request from Derek Marshall. Monday Night Attendances. For the last three months there have been only 2 1/2 tables on most Monday evenings. The issue was raised at the recent committee meeting and it was agreed that this is a situation can not be sustained in the long term but that no action should be taken before the next AGM. In the meantime it is hoped that attendances will improve. Some members are evidently deterred from the Monday sessions in the mistaken belief that their bridge is not up to the required standard. This is not the case and all members are welcome. Ron Barker 01.12.07. |
